When I was wee, our family used to go on holiday to a caravan in St. Monance in the East Neuk of Fife. Right at the front of the caravan site there was a steep embankment right on the seafront where there was the longest chute I've ever seen, it was huge. We and all the other kids used to get plain loaf wrappers which were waxed and sit on them to make us go faster down the chute. There were many injuries and consequently the chute was removed. The stairs are still there and you can see the foundations of the chute. It was legendary. I've called the tune The St. Monance Slide. The title might suggest to some musicians that the tune might be a jig, but of course it's not. Just my sense of humour. What a hoot. Not sure if it's a march or a strathspey. It's just a tune.
Tune type: March
